To be named best of the bunch entrants will need approval from a prestigious group of judges featuring Matt Fisher (Pitmaster, Fletchers Barbecue), Chris Sell (Chef and Founder of Chip Shop), and veteran Chili Cook-Off expert, Ed Jen.

Judging will be held at 1pm, a free public tasting at 2pm, and the winner will be announced at 3pm. 1st Place, will receive a fixed draft line at The Gate for 3 months, 2nd Place for 2 months, and 3rd Place for 1 month. Public judging/vote determines 3rd Place.

The Gate is located at 321 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn on the corner of 5th Ave and 3rd Street.

About The Gate
The Gate opened in 1997 to a small and supportive local “crowd” parched for quality craft beer. Founded on the desire to spread the word of ingenuity and taste, The Gate has forged longstanding relationships with the trailblazers as well as those representing the craft beer phenomenon that followed. Since that quiet beginning, The Gate has served a rotating and unique blend of kegged ales numbering in the tens of thousands. A craft beer scene pioneer and Park Slope neighborhood mainstay, The Gate continues to offer the best in American craft ales and lagers, unique events and old school Brooklyn ethic.
